Each piece has its own individuality and everything you make from the yarn is its own work of art, completely unique.

   Recycled silk yarn comes in a hank rather than a ball. That means the yarn needs to be wound into a ball before you start knitting

Using Recycled Silk Yarn:

Recycled silk yarn has variations in thickness an the amount of tension in the thread even throughout the same hank. It can get really twisted and kinky if you don't let it hang and unwind itself occasionally.

Recycled silk yarn is beautiful in small projects like bags, wraps, sleevless tops,hat and other small items where you'd like some luxury.

 Knitting gauge:  approx 4-4.5 sts an inch on US 8-9 needles

Colours - Because recycled silk yarn is handspun, each skein varies in its colorway, gauge, twist and texture.  Just like the saris this yarn is made from, there is an infinite number of color mixtures.  We try to fill orders with yarn with a similar color theme and similar gauge yarn

The yardage varies from skein per skein, the thickness and amount of twist in particular skein can make a big difference in the total yardage.  If your yarn is over-twisted, letting out some of the twist will make it easier to work with and maximize your yardage , approxmatly 80 yards
